Phenakite is a beryllium nesosilicate sometimes associated with pegmatites and this fine small miniature is from Rio Piracicaba in Minas Gerais, Brazil.  The 4 cm wide crystal has a smaller Phenakite attached towards one end and is completely colourless with an internally crazed translucent body grading to transparent near its termination.  The crystals have patches and inclusions of a silvery-black mineral which could be finely disseminated Muscovite.  A lovely Phenakite from Rio Piracicaba.
