Mexquitic de Carmona Municipality in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, is the type locality for Fluor-buergerite, a bronze-brown to dark brown member of the Tourmaline Group.  As is a characteristic trait of Fluor-buergerite at this locality, individual crystals form linear chains across the matrix surface and as sub-parallel chains to one another.  The separate crystals are perfectly formed and all have a brilliant reflective glassy lustre which sparkle when tilted.  The matrix provides a good contrast to the Fluor-buergerite, being a slightly pink tan and, although I’m not certain, looks like a rhyolite.  Fluor-buergerite is a rare species and this is a gorgeous, well crystallised small miniature.
