Two slender, 8.5 cm long smoky blue, double terminated Baryte crystals form a V-shaped ex-matrix specimen with attractive overgrowths of Dolomite, Calcite and Hematite.  From the Egremont iron mining district in west Cumbria, the two crystals form a stunning cabinet specimen.  It is a wide V with the two crystals at just over ninety degrees to each other.  Hematite inclusions tinge the crystals brick red in parts and overall, have a terrific glassy lustre.  The Hematite overgrowths form as curved shell-like shards and the Dolomite as curved and angular white crystals.  It is an unusual and striking specimen and one which will look fabulous in any fine collection.  It is accompanied with an old handwritten and stamped William Weigand (Berlin W.) label and a Lidstrom’s (Prineville, Oregon) label.  The latter states it is from the Carl Bosch Collection.
