An ex-matrix, single crystal of milky, sky blue Beryl forming a long hexagonal prism from Barra de Salinas in Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil.  It is a beautiful and tactile specimen, one which just begs to be handled because of its mirror-like lustrous faces and a colour more pale blueberry milkshake than mineral!  At 10.4 cm tall, the prism displays faces each of almost equal width, with a perfectly flat pinacoid around which some edges are bevelled.  There is one minor conchoidal chip on one edge.  The entire prism body is this unusual milky blue save for the final 1.2 cm where it grades to a narrow pale aquamarine-blue gemmy termination.  A beautiful Aquamarine Beryl from Coronel Murta.
