Northern Spain is well known for its fine, glassy and colourless Dolomite crystals, the like of which are hard to better.  This delicious cluster is composed of just two crystals with a common base encrusted with small rhombohedral Calcite crystals.  Each of these are just a few millimetres long but occasionally reach 1 cm.  Each Dolomite crystal is around 2.5 cm across the longest face, with mirror-smooth faces and are almost entirely transparent, verging on gemmy.  An outstanding Dolomite from the village of Eugui in EsterĂbar, Navarre, Spain.
