Fluorapatite with Arsenopyrite

ID: CC21901
A magnificent group of Fluorapatite crystals with an area of crystallised Arsenopyrite from the Panasqueira Mines at Covilhã in Castelo Branco District, Portugal.  Fluorapatite forms both the matrix and crystallised parts of this superb small cabinet specimen with the largest hexagonal crystal measuring 4.2 cm at it widest point and 2.1 cm in length.  The prism faces are striated and pinacoid terminations mirror smooth.  This plus six other various good size crystals make up the display face, at one end of which is a 2 x 2.7 cm group of complexly formed metallic, pale silver Arsenopyrite crystals.   The Fluorapatite crystals are a translucent smoky greenish-teal blue which exhibit frosted interiors in various graded colours.  A beautiful Panasqueira Fluorapatite with Arsenopyrite.
