Graves Mountain in Lincoln County, Georgia, USA, is probably the world’s most famous Rutile locality where it would seem a never-ending supply of Rutile of every size, shape and habit has been produced. In this super-cute thumbnail, the Rutile forms a near-perfect, equant, dodecahedral crystal measuring 2 cm in diameter and attached to a tiny offset matrix of iron-stained Quartz. The Rutile, a titanium dioxide, is very dark chocolate brown with a reddish hue and whose faces are smooth and semi-lustrous. It is a beautiful and most pleasing specimen.
