Fluorite with Galena
ID:
CC21954
This gorgeous miniature should really be termed Galena with Fluorite as one large single, naturally etched Galena crystal dominates this specimen. The Galena measures approximately 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.0 cm and is a modified cuboctahedron whose side faces are matt silver grey while its top surface is highly reflective, lustrous metallic silver. Attached to this at one side is an interpenetrant Fluorite twin to 1.3 cm on edge with gemmy delicate purple prisms grading to pale sea green interiors. A splendid Galena with gemmy Fluorite from the Purple Rain Pocket in Lady Annabella mine, Eastgate, Weardale, County Durham, England.
