A beautiful and classic transparent to gemmy interpenetrant Fluorite twin of deep blackberry purple grading to sea green towards its base.  This colour change is not readily apparent as the entire crystal appears deep purple, but on examination and once backlit, the colour variations come to the fore.  This ex. matrix small miniature is from the Purple Rain Pocket in Lady Annabella mine, Eastgate, Weardale, County Durham, England, with the largest prism measuring 3.2 cm on edge.  The twin displays excellent daylight fluorescence and under LWUV fluoresces bright creamy lavender.  The crystals have a resinous lustre with a mirror-smooth surface.  It is a fine miniature example of a Weardale interpenetrant twin.
