ID: CC21959
A terrific miniature dark blackberry purple Fluorite dominated by a large, elongated interpenetrant twin from the Purple Rain Pocket in Lady Annabella mine, Eastgate, Weardale, County Durham, England.  The Twin measures 3.1 cm on its longest edge and its prisms are mainly transparent to gemmy with pale purple and green colour zoning, forming rectangular nested bands.  The twin is surrounded by much smaller, mainly single crystals.  The prism faces on the twin are either mirror-smooth and glassy or crossed-diagonally by naturally etched growth patterns producing a harlequin pattern.  The crystal displays a bright lilac daylight fluorescence and under LWUV is mottled lavender with bright lavender white edges.
