Fluorite with Fluid Inclusion

ID: CC21962
A fine interpenetrant Fluorite twin of blackberry purple and sea green.  This ex. matrix miniature is from the Purple Rain Pocket in Lady Annabella mine, Eastgate, Weardale, County Durham, England, the largest prism measuring 3.3 cm on its longest edge.  The specimen is composed of three interpenetrant cubic crystals, one of which has an easily visible mobile fluid Inclusion, likely a gas bubble trapped within a liquid-filled cavity, judging by the meniscus.  The prisms have either glassy bright mirror-smooth surfaces or a semi-matt greasy lustre with etched cross-diagonal growth patterns producing a harlequin pattern.  The twin displays mild daylight fluorescence and under LWUV fluoresces bright creamy lavender.  A great miniature Weardale interpenetrant twin displaying purple and green zoning and a mobile fluid Inclusion.
