This most attractive cabinet specimen of Fluorite from the Purple Rain Pocket is dominated by the corner section of a large single Fluorite crystal.  This forms a three-sided pyramid whose longest edge measures 6.5 cm.  The apex is a deep intense blackberry purple with an apparently quite gemmy interior.  This grades to white-tinged translucent to opaque Fluorite surrounded by several part crystals with one section becoming sea green along the base.  The Purple Rain Pocket was discovered at the Lady Annabella mine at Eastgate in Weardale, County Durham, England in early summer 2021.  The crystal displays a beautiful and intense deep purple daylight fluorescence and under LWUV is a bright rich uniform lavender.
