One large interpenetrant twinned purple Fluorite dominates this cabinet specimen from the Purple Rain Pocket in Lady Annabella mine at Eastgate in Weardale, County Durham, England, the discovery being made in early summer 2021.  This twinned crystal measures 3 cm on its longest edge and like most of the other much smaller Fluorite crystals on this specimen, is mainly translucent with the odd gemmy zone.  The crystals cover a matrix of hard, rusty-cream ironstone of which all sides and the base are sawn flat, although this is not evident when displayed.  The Fluorite tends to form slightly elongated cubic crystals with crackled interiors and reflect transmitted light is all directions.  The main twin exhibits a more gemmy central cube, almost phantom-like in appearance.  The Fluorite displays good natural daylight fluorescence and is a uniform white lavender under LWUV.
