A cabinet specimen of mainly single cubic Fluorite crystals of translucent to gemmy purple with occasional mild sea green zones. The Fluorite covers a matrix of rusty brown ironstone which has been sawn flat to form a level base, the latter not apparent when displayed. Close to one edge and overgrowing the Fluorite are three dull metallic lead grey Galena crystals forming almost cubic prisms slightly modified to the octahedron. This tremendous specimen is from the Purple Rain Pocket in Lady Annabella mine, Eastgate, Weardale, County Durham, England. The two largest Fluorite prisms measure up to 2.4 and 2.1 cm respectively. The Fluorite has an intense blackberry daylight fluorescence and under LWUV fluoresces uniform bright lavender.
