Fluorite with Fluid Inclusion

ID: CC27096
A superb and classic, gemmy elongated interpenetrant Fluorite twin of blackberry purple grading to delicate sea green.  This ex. matrix miniature is from the Purple Rain Pocket in Lady Annabella mine, Eastgate, Weardale, County Durham, England, with the largest prism measuring 3.1 cm on its longest edge.  Deep within one prism is a small fluid inclusion forming a spherical bubble which can travel within a narrow crevice within the Fluorite.  It is likely the bubble is gas trapped within a liquid-filled cavity, judging by the meniscus.  The twin displays good daylight fluorescence and under LWUV fluoresces bright creamy lavender.  The crystals have a glassy to resinous lustre with mirror-smooth surfaces and, on some faces, nested rectangular growth patterns.  A terrific fine miniature of a Weardale interpenetrant twin with a mobile fluid Inclusion.
