Dark blackberry cubic crystals of Fluorite with milky tinged edges and corners thickly cover a dense Quartz matrix from one of the mines close to the town of Altenberg in Saxony, Germany.  The Fluorite crystals are typically between 5 and 7 mm on edge and cloudy-translucent.  In strong direct light their translucency becomes more apparent with multiple flashes of bright Royal purple around and within the prisms. This small cabinet specimen comes with two past collection labels, one very old, judging by its appearance.
