Berzelianite is a rare copper selenide which typically occurs as semi-lustrous, black metallic masses within Calcite.   This thumbnail example is from the Neu Karolinen area in Lerbach, Osterode am Harz in Lower Saxony, Germany, the Berzelianite occurring as microscopic granular black crystals associated with delicate fuchsia pink Calcite.  This rare specimen is accompanied with a very old German label in beautiful copperplate handwriting.
