Quartz var. Amethyst with fluid inclusions

ID: CC28733
The Brandberg district in the Erongo Region of Namibia is well known for it beautiful Amethyst Quartz and this lovely example is double terminated, grading from milky Quartz at one end through ever intensifying lilac and purple to the opposite termination.  The last third of the prism at the Amethyst end becomes gemmy and within this zone at least one fluid inclusion can easily be seen.  This is in the form of a small bubble with millimetre or two mobility.  The prism faces are horizontally striated and the Amethyst termination is asymmetric, verging on the Dauphiné habit.
