A superb and seldom encountered specimen of the complex silicate Wiluite from one of its two co-type localities, this being the Vilyui River Basin (Wilui River Basin) in Eastern-Siberia, Russia. A member of the Vesuvianite Group, the primary crystal on this small cabinet specimen measures 3.5 x 2.1 x 1.9 cm and is intensely dark green verging on black. The well-developed tetragonal prism is double terminated, each end displaying a four-sided truncated pyramid with flat pinacoid face. Other, much smaller, crystals cluster along one side of the green-grey-cream skarn matrix. This is an excellent example of the rarely encountered silicate, Wiluite.
