The Naughty Gnome Pocket was discovered in the Diana Maria mine in late 2021 and this small cabinet specimen is a fine representative example. Diana Maria mine is a little west of the village of Frosterley in Weardale, Co. Durham, England. The deep leafy green Fluorite forms cubic crystals averaging 1.3 to 1.8 cm on edge with many slightly elongated. They grade from transparent through translucent, often with clouded creamy face centres and contrast well against an underlying druse of micro-crystals of Quartz, often stained to almost black. The corners of the crystals emit a moderate yet pleasing purple daylight fluorescence and under LWUV all the Fluorite fluoresces bright lilac white.
