A beautiful jumbled pile of interpenetrant twinned Fluorite crystals from The Hidden Forest Pocket in Diana Maria mine near Frosterley in Weardale, County Durham, England. All crystals are cuboids, an elongated cubic habit with prisms up to 2.1 cm long and all of a stunning, gemmy mid to deep forest green. The Fluorite covers a small, thin ironstone matrix, yet of sufficient strength not to be fragile. In daylight the Fluorite does naturally fluoresce, turning the prisms almost black rather than an anticipated blue-purple. Under LWUV they fluoresce bright lavender white. A delightful Hidden Forest Fluorite from Diana Maria mine.
