This small cabinet specimen of Sphalerite on Fluorite is fine representative example of the characteristic material from Ladywash mine at Eyam in Derbyshire, England. Forming an elongated dome, sulphide-included Fluorite crystals have formed around a central 3 x 3 x 3 cm cubic crystal, all Fluorite being colourless yet appearing grey because of the high density of inclusions. Sphalerite has crystallised in five areas over the Fluorite, as black composite crystals to 1.8 cm with a bright metallic lustre.
