A highly attractive purple and pale yellow colour-zoned Fluorite from Rosiclare in the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District of Illinois, USA. Semi-transparent to translucent cubic Fluorite crystals of between about 2 to 3 cm wide overlap one another forming a splayed array of crystal faces. All the crystals are strongly zoned containing purple, lilac and blue edges and inner zones. The core of each crystal is a mild and subtle honey lemon yellow. It is a Fluorite typical of the famous Illinois mines, making a charming small cabinet specimen.
