An impressive cabinet specimen of teal blue Baryte crystals enveloped around its centre by a druse of cream to pale brick red and deep flesh pink Dolomite crystals. The specimen comes with a variety of old labels: three of which are unprovenanced. One of these is more a long scrap of paper on which is noted it was donated to Yale University prior to 1940 and then passed on to the Smithsonian. A more recent label is that of Dan and Jill Weinrich (Missouri). The Baryte forms characteristic thick, tabular crystals, the largest measuring 6.5 x 6.0 x 1.5 cm with clarity covering the full spectrum from opaque through translucent to small transparent patches. A showy specimen which will look good displayed.
