A plate of well crystallised cubic Fluorite crystals from Jug Vein at Brownley Hill mine, Nenthead, of a most attractive, limey-apple green, not dissimilar to specimens from West Pasture mine near Stanhope. The village of Nenthead is on Alston Moor in east Cumbria, a mining district west of the Weardale Valley. Interestingly, when closely examined, especially under low magnification, the transparent to translucent crystals display narrow yet distinct teal and inky blue colour zoning along all edges and can also be seen to have granular sulphide inclusions. Under LWUV the entire specimen fluoresces bright purple-lavender.
