Very much a reference specimen, containing two very rare mineral species from the world famous Volodarsk-Volynskii mining district in Zhytomyr Oblast', Ukraine. Volodarsk-Volynskii is the name known by collectors and mineralogists the world-over, although this has now changed to Khoroshiv Raion. Perraultite is a complex barium-sodium-manganese-titanium silicate with additional oxygen, hydrate and fluorine. Kupletskite is equally complex with a very similar chemistry but containing some potassium and iron. These minerals are embedded in a fine granular complex granite, more aplite than pegmatite.
