Fluorite
ID:
CC32014
This pocket was named for Jakub Sauermann, a member of the UK Mining Ventures’ specimen recovery team, who discovered this football-sized pocket in The Bull Vein in September 2021. This beautiful example primarily features a semi-complete cube of yellow Fluorite with part crystals branching from opposite sides, both forming interpenetrant twins with the central prism. This primary crystal measures 1.9 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm and displays distinct colour zones, beginning with pale lavender faces and edges, trough several narrow bands of lilac, green and blue to a zesty light lemon centre. Under LWUV the edges fluoresce bright lavender while the prism’s core is a darker purple.
