Impressive, modified octahedral black Spinel crystals to 1.6 cm diameter almost completely mask a layer of insipid beige-green Vesuvianite crystals averaging 7 mm long. The matrix is a granular Quartz veinstone, similar in appearance to granite. This small miniature is a great example from Slyudyanka in the Lake Baikal Area of Eastern-Siberia, Russia.
