Wulfenite with Calcite

Entirely gemmy, lemon yellow micro-crystals of Wulfenite sitting on a rusty to sooty black gnarled Goethite matrix makes for an iconic specimen from where else but Whim Creek in Western Australia. It might well be a relatively common combination from this familiar locality, yet such specimens never fail to please. The matrix of rusty apricot on the display surface and matt, sooty black on the reverse, measures just over 9 cm tip to tip and has the added (and more unusual addition) of 1 to 2 mm diameter creamy-white Calcite spheres.
