ID:
CC32335
This terrific small cabinet specimen from the classic Canadian locality of Mont Saint-Hilaire is composed of creamy-white, large, blocky Microcline Feldspar crystals overgrown with crystallised salmon pink Serandite; black Aegirine plus Polylithionite, Leucophanite, Analcime. The largest Serandite crystal measures 2 x 1.2 x 1 cm and the longest Aegirine is 1.6 cm. Specimens from Mont Saint-Hilaire are seen less and less due to a severely restricted collecting policy. As individual quarries have been renamed and merged during Mont Saint-Hilaire’s many years of operation, unless specifically labelled, it is recommended specimen are labelled Poudrette quarry, as this is the current name and contains all pre-existing MSH quarries; DeMix for example.
