This highly attractive nodular group of botryoidal, emerald green Malachite is from the L'Etoile du Congo mine (Star of Congo mine) in the Katanga Copper Crescent of the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The two elongated nodules measure 4.9 and 3.1 cm along their lengths and the base reveals a core of mustard yellow to grey-tan porous gossan.  The Malachite has a fine-granular texture with a satin lustre, making a lovely and most characteristic miniature.
