This large miniature of Elbaite with Albite is just as good for its excellently crystalised Cleavelandite, the bladed variety of Albite Feldspar, as it is for the Tourmaline. The Elbaite forms a parallel-sided trigonal crystal, 5.8 cm long and terminating with a completely flat pinacoid with a micro-stippled texture and matt lustre. The Elbaite appears black or intensely dark green, yet the opposite end to the described termination is a ragged cross-section of tea green-tan. The Cleavelandite forms buttermilk cream interwoven blades to 3 cm with a most attractive glassy lustre.
