Any collector familiar with Weardale Fluorite will be well aware that Boltsburn material comes at a premium price.  This fabulous large cabinet specimen certainly bucks the trend as it is priced at just $600, an absolute steal for its size and quality.  I paid almost twice this price for a specimen one quarter the size at the Bakewell show about 12 years ago!  Accompanied by a prestigious David & Elizabeth Hacker label, characteristic mauve cubic Fluorite crystals ranging between transparent and translucent with many gemmy zones completely cover a thin yet strong hidden matrix of grey Fluorite, probably mixed with Quartz.  Scattered between the Fluorite cubes are many small clusters of bright, lustrous 1 mm colourless Quartz crystals, some tinged an attractive orange tan.  The cubic crystals average 2 to 3 cm on edge, but do attain just in excess of 4 cm.  The corners (delineated by diagonal internal cleavage planes) are often more gemmy and display fabulous internal spectrums of dazzling rainbow colours.  Under LWUV all crystals fluoresce bright lavender-blue with lavender-white edges.  A magnificent Boltsburn specimen.
