Pharmacosiderite
ID:
CC32782
Zingy apple green, gemmy to translucent Pharmacosiderite crystals richly line numerous wide exposed vugs in a grey quartz veinstone matrix from Wheal Gorland in the parish of Gwennap, Cornwall, England. What was the site of this most renowned of Cornish mines is now mainly obscured by houses, with most of the wonderful mine dumps having been removed in the late 1970s. The Pharmacosiderite forms characteristic cubic crystals of under 1 mm on edge which are, on the whole, quite gemmy, all with a brilliant glassy lustre and causing the entire specimen to sparkle. A lovely and very rich large miniature/small cabinet specimen from Wheal Gorland.
