A splendidly rich dome shaped specimen of Barytocalcite from Second Sun Vein in Nentsberry Haggs mine, Cumbria. Well-developed upright bladed crystals of Barytocalcite completely cover the display faces of the specimen. The colour of the Barytocalcite is creamy white on a matrix of altered grey-brown Limestone. The hedgehog shaped nodule is dusted in a thin film of lightly powered Baryte. This specimen was collected in the mid 1960’s by E. Bowman, later passing into the Lindsay Greenbank Collection. This is a great specimen from Nentsberry Haggs and comes with a Lindsay Greenbank printed card label with his collection number L.G. 467.
