Excellent micro-crystals of bladed Tsumcorite are abundantly intergrown atop this thumbnail specimen from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, for which it is the type locality. Crystals of Tsumcorite, named for the Tsumeb Corporation, are gemmy to opaque butterscotch-yellow and are associated with scattered tabular crystals of sherry-brown translucent Wulfenite. Both minerals are formed on red-brown Goethite covering prismatic crystals of Quartz and possible Smithsonite. These are particularly good crystals of Tsumcorite, as this rare species can often form ill-defined crystals, more earthy in texture.
