Catapleite

A well crystallised specimen of Catapleiite from the iconic locality of Mont Saint-Hilaire in Québec, Canada. Excellent, sharp, platy Catapleiite forms near hexagonal crystals in a slightly divergent parallel habit. The lustrous light tan Catapleiite crystals are associated with a dark greenish-black species, possibly Aegirine. A fine miniature of Catapleiite from the Poudrette quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire. The specimen label is recoded as just Mont Saint Hilaire because the exact section of the former two adjacent quarries is unknown. What were the Poudrette and DeMix quarries are now classed as the Poudrette, so simplifying this dilemma.
