Fluorite on Siderite With Chalcopyrite

Well-developed clusters of cubic Fluorite crystals on Siderite with Chalcopyrite from the Carn Brea mine at Illogan in Cornwall.  The Fluorite prisms measure to 1 cm, are delicate bluish white to colourless and grade from translucent to opaque cores.  Lustrous, brassy yellow Chalcopyrite forms sharp tetragonal crystals, some with curved edges which appear slightly sphenoidal.  These are also scattered over the biscuit coloured, intergrown Siderite crystals which cover a matrix of banded Quartz, Hematite and Chlorite.  A most attractive small cabinet specimen with a J.L White Collection label.
