A small cabinet specimen of characteristic, intergrown, translucent, creamy Witherite crystals measuring to around 1 cm and coated with a thin film of snow-white Baryte. The specimen shows a typical, partial replacement of Witherite by Baryte from Nentsberry Haggs mine, east of Alston in eastern Cumbria. Under LWUV the Baryte fluoresces a fairly bright, delicate lemon-tinged white. The specimen comes with Fred Meissner (Denver, Colorado) and Minerals Unlimited (Berkeley, California) labels.
