A classic specimen of Quartz with Rutile and Brookite from Lanterdan quarry at Treknow close to Tintagel in Cornwall. Two ribs of Quartz crystals are displayed in a step growth form with tabular habit and well developed terminations.  Several areas within the Quartz crystals are included by golden yellow needles of Rutile, with one area showing excellent sagenitic twinning, associated with creamy crystals of Albite to 4 mm.  More unusually for this location, the Quartz also contains an approximately 3 x 2 mm blade of Brookite, a polymorph of Rutile.  A fine Quartz with Rutile and Brookite from Lanterdan.
