A beautiful cabinet specimen of Fluorapatite from the Greifenstein Rocks near the town of Ehrenfriedersdorf in Saxony, Germany. These magnificent Rocks create an area of outstanding scenic beauty amongst the surrounding forest; the outcrops being a lithium-rich granite. This specimen has an abundance of sharply formed Fluorapatite crystals measuring to 1 cm across the pinacoid with striated prism faces. The Fluorapatites are gemmy to translucent of an attractive light, yet rich, violet. The Fluorapatites sit at differing orientations across the display face and contrast nicely against the tiny Quartz crystals which form the creamy white matrix. A fine remarkably fine specimen of Fluorapatite from this off-collecting limits location.
