A classic old German location miniature from the Schneckenstein Cliff, for many years now off-limits to collectors. Several well-formed, characteristically pastel straw-yellow gemmy to translucent Topaz crystals measuring to 1.6 cm nestle amongst transparent, terminated Quartz crystals on a banded greisenised granitic matrix. Sparsely scattered black micro-crystals of Rutile occur, but these are not readily recognised. The world famous Schneckenstein Cliff is close to the village of Schneckenstein in the Vogtland district of Saxony.
