ARAGONITE

A rare, gemmy single crystal of Aragonite, from an occurrence well known amongst European collectors at Číčov Hill, Hořenec, Bílina in the Czech Republic. This single gemmy, pale lemon tinted colourless Aragonite crystal measures 6.2 cm tall and has an excellent termination. The faces are smooth yet covered in surface growth features including ribbed and striated areas. It is a very old specimen, evident by the accompanying fine old wooden stand, painted black and with an affixed custom-made label beneath. This is printed “Min. Sammlg. d. Bergak.Leoben” followed by specimen details written in a beautiful copperplate script. A fine example from this now closed location.
