Fluorite with Chalcopyrite and Sphalerite

An excellent Cornish specimen of gemmy-translucent, pastel blue Fluorite whose stepped edges, outlined in lilac, form a blocky pyramid of about 2.5 cm tall. From the St. Agnes mining area, north of Redruth, brassy Chalcopyrite crystals are scattered over and around an area of the Fluorite. Several small black Sphalerite crystals are perched on the Chalcopyrite along with a few embedded in the Fluorite. This cubic-stepped Fluorite habit is characteristic of mines in the St. Agnes district.
