A rare specimen of Tetradymite from the type locality at Župkov in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. Trigonal crystals of metallic grey Tetradymite measuring to a little over 2 mm are scattered through a typical white-creamy compact granular altered andesite porphyry matrix. Tetradymite is a rare bismuth-tellurium sulphide and two small occurrences are known close to the village of Župkov. One of these, named Pod Angleta, is the type locality and the other, Ján Korunt, is close by, but is not the actual type locality. This may be a little pedantic, but it is as it is. This specimen is labelled as from the village of Župkov so, similar to Schrödinger's cat, it may or may not be from the specific type locality, but as near as damn it however!
