Two well-formed deep maroon-red dodecahedral crystals of Almandine Garnet to 1.3 and 1.7 cm diameter sit on top of a light grey and creamy white contrasting matrix of mixed Quartz and Muscovite mica from the Serrote Redondo area in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The Almandine crystals are a rich deep cranberry red and display gemmy areas of pinkish purple. The crystal morphology is splendid, displaying stepped, concentrically nested lozenge or diamond-shaped growth development patterns on every face. A great miniature of Almandine from Brazil.
