Scorodite

ID: CC7086
A fine divergent array of bladed Scorodite crystals from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia.  The translucent to opaque Scorodite crystals measure up to about 2.3 cm forming a splayed cluster measuring overall to 3.4 cm of mid inky-blue to bluish-teal.  Scorodite, an iron arsenate, is a rare species at Tsumeb with specimens seldom encountered.  It is known to have occurred within the supergene and 2nd and 3rd Oxidation Zones, this being a magnificent crystallised example.  This small miniature is mounted on a clear acrylic display base and will, without doubt, prove a showstopper in any fine Tsumeb collection.
