From Wheal Alfred, a fine miniature of well-formed, intergrown, bright oily lime green Pyromorphite crystals measuring to 5 mm on a characteristic, ferruginous Quartz matrix with many more micro-crystals scattered over other areas of the specimen. The Pyromorphite has a brilliant reflective lustre which contrasts magnificently against the iron-stained Quartz. Wheal Alfred is without doubt a classic Cornish locality and is the first location which comes to mind at the mention of Cornish Pyromorphite!
