A specimen of Pyromorphite with good locational information from a collapsed stope near the Mexico mine in the Caldbeck Fells of Cumbria. A rich druse of lime green botryoidal Pyromorphite grades into crystalline bubbles and micro-prismatic crystals on black to red-brown Goethite on a Ferruginous Quartz matrix. The specimen was collected from this stope in 1982. The famous Mexico mine is located at the head of Roughton Gill, a historic mining area in which all mineral collecting has long since been prohibited. This is an unusual form and colour of Pyromorphite from Roughton Gill and will make a lovely addition any good Caldbeck Fells collection.
