Richly intergrown, lustrous metallic black plates of pseudohexagonal Polybasite crystals measuring to 3 mm abundantly cover the display face of a fawn crystalline Siderite matrix. Rare associated crystals of probable Proustite with areas of Sphalerite are also intergrown with the Polybasite. From the silver mining area of Freiberg in Germany, this is a rich Polybasite from the area, accompanied with an (extremely) old handwritten label including a detailed contemporary chemical formula.
